Removal

  1. Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding (303-03A Engine Cooling - 1.0L EcoBoost (74kW/100PS)/1.0L EcoBoost (90kW/120PS)/1.0L EcoBoost (103kW/140PS) (YY), General Procedures).

  1. NOTE: Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.

  1. Remove the following items:
    1. Refer to: Turbocharger (303-04H Fuel Charging and Controls - Turbocharger - 1.0L EcoBoost (74kW/100PS)/1.0L EcoBoost (90kW/120PS)/1.0L EcoBoost (103kW/140PS) (YY), Removal and Installation).
    1. Refer to: Camshafts (303-01A Engine - 1.0L EcoBoost (74kW/100PS)/1.0L EcoBoost (90kW/120PS)/1.0L EcoBoost (103kW/140PS) (YY), Removal and Installation).

  1. NOTE: The screw head can either be a Polydrive or Torx Bit type.

Installation

  1. cautionNOTICE: Make sure that new bolts are installed.

    NOTE: Only tighten the bolts finger tight at this stage.

    Use the General Equipment: Polydrive Bit Socket
    Torque:
    Stage 1:
    10 Nm
    Stage 2:
    40 Nm
    Stage 3:
    Loosen: 45°
    Stage 4:
    30 Nm
    Stage 5:
    90°
    Stage 6:
    90°
