Removal and Installation Special Tool(s) / General Equipment | 205-870 Alignment Pins, Subframe | Transmission Jack |
Removal NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details. NOTICE: Make sure that the steering column lock is engaged.
NOTE: Make sure that the road wheels are in the straight ahead position.

NOTE: Note the position of the component before removal. If equipped.

NOTICE: Make sure that the ball joint ball does not rotate.
Do not over-articulate (exceed +/- 28?) the ball joints while handling the part in assembly/service process.
Do not apply loads (do not lift/bend/lean on the part nor let it dangle) with only one of two ball joints attached to suspension, to avoid over-articulation.
On both sides.

NOTICE: Make sure that the exhaust flexible pipe is not forcibly bent or twisted.

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component. NOTE: Note the position of each component before removal.

Installation To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTICE: Stabilizer bar rubber bushes are grease-sensitive. Make sure bushes are always installed in dry condition.
NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component. NOTE: Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material. NOTE: Make sure that these components are installed to the noted removal position.

NOTE: Only tighten the bolts finger tight at this stage. NOTE: Make sure that new bolts are installed.

Install Special Service Tool: 205-870. Torque: 52 Nm
|
Torque: Stage 1: 100 NmStage 2: 180°
|
Remove Special Service Tool: 205-870.
|
NOTICE: Make sure that the ball joint ball does not rotate.
On both sides.
Torque: 48 Nm
|
NOTE: Make sure a new bolt is installed.
|
NOTE: Make sure that the components are installed to the position noted before removal. If equipped.
